Our Story
Diesel & Dough’s story began when Co-Owner and little brother, Dylan, dreamed of converting his bright yellow, 30-foot school bus into a camper for cross-country adventures. As life progressed, this vision plateaued and eventually the bus was moved to a campground, untouched for years until early 2023, Kyle, Co-Owner and older brother, found purpose for the bus. “Why not turn it into a food truck?” After brainstorming, we landed on a concept we were both passionate about—PIZZA.
The bus, revived from the campground, sprung into action with a newfound purpose. With the help of friends and family, we completely gutted it, stripping it down to the bare bones. There were moments when the transformation felt impossible, but piece by piece, the bus began its journey from an abandoned dream to a mobile pizzeria. With summer of 2023 concluding, soft-openings for family and friends provided valuable insight into areas of improvement. We took a pause, closed up for the season, and spent the rest of the year fine-tuning every detail.
As 2024 approached, we upgraded the bus with better equipment, a polished setup, and a fresh paint job. With the final details coming together, we officially launched our food truck! Our first year on the road was an incredible experience, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come.
Our journey has been anything but typical, but that’s what makes our pizza—and our story—special. We are thrilled to now share it with our community and we can’t wait to see you at the truck. Whether you are grabbing a pizza or swapping stories, everybody is welcome at Diesel & Dough!
